Junior Heidi Heintz's effort that guided the UC Davis Aggies to a perfect 3-0 week, which included two road victories, also contributed to her garnering Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors, for the week ending December 7.
In the first contest of the week against Saint Mary's, she posted a team-high 15 points and eight rebounds in 29 minutes of play. In UC Davis' second West Coast Conference game of the week versus Santa Clara, Heintz grabbed a team-best seven rebounds and posted double digits in scoring with 12 points.
Returning home to host Denver over the weekend, Heintz was clutch down the stretch, shooting 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final 18 seconds to help the Aggies increase a four-point lead to eventually win by seven. She had 12 points in the second half, all of them after the Pioneers had come back from a 31-23 halftime deficit to take a 37-33 lead.
The Spokane, Wash., native led the Aggies in rebounding (5.7 RPG), field goal percentage (.571), free throw percentage (.938) and free throws made (.938). Heintz was near perfect from the charity stripe, making 15 of her 16 attempts.
