Anderson and Harden Share First Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Of 2009-10

Larry Anderson (Long Beach, Calif./Jordan HS) of Long Beach State and Joe Harden (Acampo, Calif./Notre Dame) of UC Davis were selected Big West Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week after strong individual performances netted them a share of the conference's first award for the 2009-10 season.

Anderson, a 6-5 guard, scored a game-high 18 points to lead the 49ers to an 86-65 season-opening win against Alaska Anchorage on Saturday.  He added career-highs of seven assists and five steals as Long Beach State won a season opener for the first time in eight years.

He made 5 of 8 shots from the field and 6 of 8 from the free throw line.  In addition, Anderson matched his career high with two three-pointers.

Harden averaged 17.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game to help the Aggies to a 1-2 record at the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off in Eugene, Ore.

He posted two double-doubles during the tournament, including a career-high 26 points to go along with 12 rebounds in a 99-79 triumph over Winston-Salem State.  Harden produced his first double-double in the season opener against Colorado State when he had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

For the week, Harden shot 45.5% (15 of 33) from the field and 36.4% (4 of 11) at the free throw line.
