Saturday marks the busiest weekend to date for the Big West cross country clubs as every team will be in action in either Riverside or Stanford, Calif.

UC Riverside hosts its 28th Annual UCR Cross Country Invitational at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course Saturday morning, an event that the Highlanders won on both sides a year ago. Expect a lot of participants at the popular meet as a combined 39 teams and 385 runners took part in the Invitational a year ago.

Aside from UCR, fellow Big West teams Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge are scheduled to compete. The women's 5Krace starts at 7:30 am, while the men's 8K jaunt is scheduled for 8:15am.

The rest of the conference teams in competition Saturday will be up in Stanford for the 35th edition of the Stanford Invitational.

Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton (men), Long Beach State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara and Pacific will compete among approximately 280 athletes in each field for the team titles.

The men's race will be an 8K starting at 10:50 am, while the women's event will be a 6K at 11:30 am.
