On a night where the offense was held to just 32.7% from the field, UC Davis did just enough to outlast Long Beach State, 51-48 on Thursday, February 7. Led by senior Heather Bates’ 14 points, the Aggies improved their record to 12-9 overall and 6-3 in conference, maintaining their tie with Cal Poly for third in the Big West Conference.
After the game, Bates discussed the team’s recent shooting woes in their third straight game decided by four points or fewer. Aggie head coach Sandy Simpson and 49ers head coach Mary Hegarty also gave their thoughts on the second close game between the two teams this year, as Davis defeated

The Aggies will next head to Northridge to take on the Matadors, Saturday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m. PST.
