The Big West released its 2025-26 women's basketball conference schedule, featuring a 20-game double-round robin format culminating in the 20256 Big West Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Credit Union 1.  
  
The first date of non-conference play is set for Nov. 3, with league action beginning with Bold Week games on Dec. 4 and 6, adding early season intrigue to the double round-robin slate. Conference competition picks back up on New Year’s Day, with each Big West squad facing off in a consistent Thursday/Saturday format where all 11 teams will play a home-and-away series against each fellow conference member. The regular season concludes on March 7 before the top eight teams converge on the Las Vegas valley to vie for the Championship trophy.   

Some of the premier matchups and storylines to watch include:   

• The Big West is coming off a season of parity where four teams reached the 20-win mark: Hawai’i (22-10), UC Irvine (21-10), UC Davis (21-12) and UC San Diego (20-16). The Big West Championship was won by No. 4 seed UC San Diego, who bested third-seeded UC Davis in the finale from Henderson. Regular-season champion Hawai’i was nipped at the buzzer in the semifinals, dropping their game to the eventual champions.  

• The Tritons and the Rainbow Wahine meet on O’ahu on Jan. 3 with the return visit to La Jolla on Feb. 7. The matchup will see 2024-25 Big West Newcomer of the Year Sabrina Ma on the court for the Tritons with UH’s center and reigning Big West Freshman of the Year Ritorya Tamilo patrolling the paint for the ’Bows. The first Championship rematch is slated for Jan. 22 from LionTree Arena with return between the Tritons and Aggies set for Feb. 12 in Davis.  

• Winning both The Big West men’s and women’s titles to earn NCAA qualification in their first year of eligibility, UC San Diego is the first school in NCAA Division I history to accomplish that feat. 

• New head coach at Cal State Fullerton John Bonner heads to the Titans after a Division II national runner-up season with Cal State Dominguez Hills. Bonner boasts the only two 30-win seasons in Toreros’ program history including a record 36 victories in 2024-25 and was twice named CCAA Coach of the Year.  

The 2026 Big West Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Credit Union 1 is scheduled for March 11-14 at Lee's Family Forum in Henderson, Nev. The eight-team bracket sees the top two seeds earning automatic entry into the semifinal round, with the Championship victor earning the league’s automatic berth into the 2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship.
