Continuing to hold on to the top spot in the Big West Conference in scoring with 18.3 points per game, Cal State Fullerton's Toni Thomas guided the Titans to their first 2-0 week of the year and picked up her second Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week accolade of the 2007-08 season. The five career weekly awards places the 5-foot-10 forward in a tie for ninth in the league’s history books.

In the win over defending conference champion UC Riverside, Thomas drained a team-high 15 points and tallied six rebounds before fouling out. In nonconference action against Cal State Bakersfield, the San Bernardino, Calif., native was one rebound shy of posting her second double-double of the season, scoring a team-high 21 points and nine rebounds. Thomas punctuated her big week by hitting the eventual game-winning basket with nine seconds remaining. Her 20-plus performance against the Roadrunners was her eighth of the season and fourth in the previous six contests.

For the week, Thomas fired a .619 clip from the field, while averaging 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest. She shot .750 from the free throw line, going 9-for-12.

Cal State Fullerton, riding a season-long three-game win streak, returns to the familiar confines of Titan Gym for the next four conference meetings. They open the homestand with a matchup with the Long Beach State 49ers on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7:00 p.m.

Others nominated: Megan Harrison (CP), Karina Figueroa (LBSU), Katie Holloway (CSUN), Sha’Rae Gibbons (UCSB), Jessica Campbell (UCD), Karen Dawkins (PAC), Brittany Waddell (UCR).
