Senior Jamie McCaa scored a season-high 21-points against No. 20 Michigan State, including a three-pointer to send the game into overtime, to grab her first Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor for the season. Overall, this is the second weekly award for the Bakersfield, Calif., native.

In the Matadors' lone match of the week against the nationally ranked Spartans, McCaa played a career-high 43 minutes and equaled a career-best with three from behind the arc, but none bigger than her triple worth 44 seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 63. The 5-7 guard also tied a career-high with nine field goals.

McCaa, who has scored in double figures in nine of 11 games, grabbed five rebounds and added four assists and three steals in the 73-69 overtime-loss to MSU.

Cal State Northridge (3-9) begins Big West action Saturday, Dec. 30 at 4:00 p.m. when the Matadors entertain the pacific Tigers at The Matadome.
