Career-High Performances Secure Player Of The Week Honors For Thomas

Cal State Fullerton forward Toni Thomas grabbed the Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor after averaging 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game and shooting 42.9% (18-for-42) from the floor and 85.0% (17-for-20) from the charity line to lead the Titans to a 2-0 record last week. Thomas is the first Titan to receive the award this season.

On Thursday night the 5-11 forward poured in a career-high 27 points and nine rebounds against the Colorado Buffaloes. Two days later versus Northern Colorado, she posted another 27-point night and grabbed 11 rebounds and dished three assists for her second double-double of the season and ninth of her career.

Thomas' impressive showing extended her double-digit scoring streak to 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season. The two 20-point efforts were also the second and third straight for Thomas and third and fourth of the season. The San Bernardino, Calif., native enters this week as the Big West’s leading scoring with 18.8 points per game.

Cal State Fullerton (4-6) returns to the court this week for a lone matchup at San Diego on Saturday, Dec. 16. Tipoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
