Karen Dawkins (Colorado Springs, Colo.) registered a career high 24 points to guide Pacific to its first win of the season, earning her Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors.
Along with the career high 24 points, Dawkins set two more career bests which helped lift the Tigers to a 71-59 win over Colorado State in their home opener. The 6-1 forward recorded nine field goals and went 6-for-8 from the free throw line, both setting new highs for Dawkins.
In the lone game of the week for Pacific, Dawkins shot 52.9 percent from the field and added six rebounds and two assists.
The Tigers return to the court Friday night when they travel to Oklahoma State for a 7:00 p.m. showdown. Two days later the Tigers visit Wichita State for a Sunday matinee.
