Rosalyn Omoruyi Earns Women's Basketball Player of the Week Honors

In her first start of the season, Long Beach State's Rosalyn Omoruyi recorded career-highs with 23 points and 14 rebounds in LBSU's one-point loss against Montana to earn Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Dec. 11. In the 49ers win over Montana State, the Long Beach, Calif., native tallied 20 points, including 10-13 from the field, while grabbing eight rebounds.

The junior forward leads the conference in field goal percentage with .571 (32-59) and is fourth in offensive rebounds, averaging 3.00 grabs per game.

Omoruyi is the second 49er to earn player of the week honors this season. LBSU's Jeannie Saunders received player of the week honors on Nov. 28.
