Sandy Hunt is The Big West soccer’s coordinator of officials.  
 
Hunt attended Seattle Pacific University where she played on their club soccer team and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation Administration.  A Bellingham Washington native, Hunt frequently participated in Seattle’s women’s soccer leagues from high school to post college.  She is known for being one of the first two females to officiate a Major League Soccer (MLS) match in 1998.  
 
Hunt has held numerous officiating roles before taking up this position.  She is a previous member of the FIFA Referee Committee, Board of Directorship for the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO), Whatcom Sports Commission, and CONACAF Technical Committee for Refereeing.  Along with being a former FIFA referee, Hunt has experience as a referee, instructor, and assessor at the World Cup in 1999 and 2003.  Hunt was also an instructor and referee at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, as well as an official for the 2001 and 2005 NCAA Women’s College Cup games.  She has officiated numerous matches and tournaments internationally and domestically for the MLS, USL, and WPS.  
 
As of 2004, Hunt retired from officiating after 18 years and currently serves as the soccer coordinator of officials for The Big West, Pac-12, West Coast, Big Sky, and Mountain West conferences.  She is also a present NCAA West Regional Advisor for Division I, II, and III men’s and women’s soccer tournaments.
