Cody Little joined The Big West as softball coordinator of officials in July 2023.
Little brings an extensive officiating background to the league after serving as an umpire or coordinator in seven NCAA Division I conferences across the country, including the AAC, Big 12, Big Ten, Missouri Valley, SEC, Mountain West and WAC. On behalf of USA Softball, Little has also assigned umpires for numerous Junior Olympic and international events at the Softball Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.
Little will be responsible for assigning officials for all softball games and tournaments hosted by Big West member-institutions. He will recruit, supervise, develop, mentor and evaluate the officials throughout The Big West to ensure the best officials are effectively managing play on the diamond across the conference.
With over 20 years of experience behind the plate, Little has umpired for multiple NCAA Division I Softball postseason events, including regionals (2014-19), super regionals (2016-19) and the Women’s College World Series (2016-17). The NCAA softball regional advisor since 2019, Little serves as the video review official for all Division I postseason games in addition to selecting and assigning umpires for postseason games across all three NCAA divisions.
An educator in the Oklahoma City suburb of Mustang since graduating from Oklahoma State in 2010, Little served in the various roles of teacher, athletic director and vice principal of the middle school before moving to the high school as vice principal in 2021.
Little and his wife, Jamey, and children Collins and Canton reside in Oklahoma City.
