Angie Allen-Haldiman joined The Big West as Assistant Commissioner for Student-Athlete Programs for the conference in March 2024 and was named Assistant Commissioner for Compliance and Student-Athlete Engagement in the summer of 2024.

In her current role, Allen serves as the primary liaison to The Big West Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Big West Undivided, the league’s diversity, equity and inclusion committee. She also serves as the conference’s primary compliance and governance administrator and liaison to the Big West Faculty Athletics Representatives. Her responsibilities include working closely with student-athletes to develop programming that promotes engagement on their campuses and in their communities, coordinating and collecting membership votes on NCAA proposals and legislation, and providing education and interpretations of conference and NCAA rules to member institutions. She also provides sport and championship oversight for multiple sports and championships.

Allen is an active member of Women Leaders in Sports and has served as the Conference Administrator Circle Lead since 2023. In this role, she helps support and connect professionals working in conference offices and contributes to the development and engagement of women leaders across the sports industry.

Allen joined The Big West from the Missouri Valley Conference, where she served as Assistant Commissioner for Special Projects. During her time at the MVC, she served as the primary liaison to the Missouri Valley Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, oversaw the league’s annual Hall of Fame ceremony, coordinated select student-athlete award banquets, and provided sport supervision for men’s and women’s golf, women’s soccer, and women’s swimming and diving. She also managed championship hospitality functions and served as a member of the MVC’s marketing team. Prior to joining the MVC, Allen served as the Big 12 Conference Championships Assistant.

Allen spent time as the Olympic Sports Graduate Assistant with Arizona State University Athletics, supporting the Sun Devils’ Olympic sports programs while pursuing her master’s degree. She earned a master’s degree in Sport Law and Business from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.

A former rowing student-athlete at the University of Kansas, Allen earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management with minors in business and leadership studies. During her time at Kansas, she was a three-time member of the Academic All-Big 12 Team and was actively involved in NCAA SAAC. She also served as the Big 12 Conference SAAC Chair and conference autonomy representative.

Outside of her professional career, Allen is married to her husband, Brandon, who serves in the United States Marine Corps.
