More Than A Moment The Big West created the More Than A Moment™ social series, an initiative designed to foster discussion about inequality and to highlight the work of Big West constituents in this area. Created in the wake of the racial reckoning sweeping the country, More Than A Moment™ aims to create content that will lead to honest and constructive conversation in the Big West Conference and beyond. “The concept behind More Than a Moment™ is that the development of a committee is more than just a reaction to one incident or moment in time, but a cultural shift to significantly address issues concerning diversity, discrimination, equity, inclusion and anti-racism,” said Big West Commissioner Dan Butterly. “Through roundtable discussions and additional content, we are providing another avenue for our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and institutions to have a continued voice on these matters.” Contributors will include current and former Big West coaches, student-athletes and administrators as well as guest speakers. The series will encompass roundtable discussions with those groups as well as individual spotlight content focusing on the work various constituents have done to further social justice and equality. More Than A Moment™ will work in partnership with Big West Undivided, the conference’s diversity, equity and inclusion committee.
