  • UC Santa Barbara attacking midfielder Steinar Bjornsson scored twice in two games to earn The Big West Offensive Player of the Week award. It is Bjornsson’s first career offensive weekly honor from the league.
     
  • The Gaucho sophomore scored the equalizer in the 78th minute in a 1-1 draw against then-No. 2 nationally-ranked San Diego, Monday night. 
     
  • On Friday at No. 20 Cornell, Bjornsson found the back of the net in the 69th minute to tie the game. 
     
  • UC Santa Barbara has a 1-1-2 record this season, having played three consecutive ranked teams. Bjornsson has compiled two goals and one assist so far.

  • Cal State Bakersfield defender Filip Arras played a full 90-minute shift, amassing one goal and one assist, to secure The Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor. This is the first career weekly honor from the conference for Arras.
     
  • The Melhus, Norway product played the full match and guided the Roadrunners to a 2-2 draw at San Diego State, Saturday night. 
     
  • The designated set piece taker, Arras was responsible for both Cal State Bakersfield scores, a corner kick assist and a free kick goal. 
     
  • Cal State Bakersfield is 1-1-2 this season. Arras has put on a full 90-minute shift twice this year.
