Offensive Player of the Week  Zac Giles, Sacramento State | Senior • Forward • Lincoln, Calif.

• Sacramento State forward Zac Giles recorded a goal and an assist to earn The Big West Offensive Player of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor for Giles.

• The senior forward compiled one goal and one assist in the Hornets' 3-1 win over local rival UC Davis on Thursday. It was Sacramento State's first season-opening win since 2019, only the second victory in the last 12 tries against the Aggies, and the first triumph at home over UC Davis since 2015.

• Giles led the Hornets with a pair of shot attempts against No. 21 Grand Canyon on Sunday, while playing all 90 minutes.

• Sacramento State has a 1-1 overall record to start the season. Giles is the team co-leader in points with three.

Defensive Player of the Week  Zenden Hart, Cal State Bakersfield | Fifth Year • Goalkeeper • Central Coast, Australia

• Cal State Bakersfield goalkeeper Zenden Hart posted a clean sheet to secure The Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor. This is the second weekly distinction of Hart's career after earning the award on Oct. 6, 2025. 

• The Central Coast, Australia product made a pair of saves in a 1-0 shutout home victory against Utah Tech to open the season. It was Hart's fifth career clean sheet at Bakersfield. 

• Cal State Bakersfield is 1-0 to start the year.

Rookie of the Week  Simone Ferrieri, UC Santa Barbara | Senior • Defender • Frosinone, Italy

• UC Santa Barbara's Simone Ferrieri delivered a goal to collect The Big West Rookie of the Week accolade. This is Ferrieri's first career weekly honor from the conference. 

• On Friday night, the Gaucho defender scored the second goal in UC Santa Barbara's 3-0 home win over San Jose State. 

• Ferrieri was strong on the defensive side as well, keeping a clean sheet as the right-most member of the Gauchos' back line. 

• UC Santa Barbara is 1-0 to begin the season.
