FULLERTON, Calif. — Top-seed and host-site Cal State Fullerton opened championship Thursday with a 4-0 shutout victory over No. 4 seed UC Davis in Game 4 of the 2026 Big West Softball Championship at Anderson Family Field. The Titans struck early with two runs in both the first and second innings and leaned on a combined five-hit effort in the circle to secure the win and advance in the winner's bracket.
Cal State Fullerton tallied eight hits in the contest, highlighted by Ava Arce's perfect 2-for-2 outing that included a home run, double and two RBI. Sarah Perez also recorded two hits and drove in a run, while Lulu Sanchez added a pair of hits and an RBI. Maggie Paulovich scored once and helped anchor the Titans defensively in right field.
In the circle, Eva Hurtado earned the win after tossing four scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Trisha McCleskey closed out the final three innings, allowing just two hits to preserve the shutout.
UC Davis scattered five hits, led by Sydney Polli's two-hit performance at first base. Marley Panziera, Naomi Kalanetra, and Keira Brady each added a hit, while Maia Scholtens provided four strong relief innings with four strikeouts and no earned runs allowed.
The Titans improved to 38-13 overall and advanced to face No. 2 seed Hawai'i in Friday's semifinal round, while UCD moved into the elimination bracket.

No. 2 seed Hawai'i edged No. 3 seed UC Santa Barbara, 2-0, in Game 5 of the 2026 Big West Softball Championship behind a complete-game shutout from
Taryn Irimata at Anderson Family Field. Hawai'i scored once in the first inning and added an insurance run in the second before the pitching staff held off multiple Gaucho scoring threats.
Irimata was dominant in the circle, throwing all seven innings while allowing nine hits and striking out four. The sophomore stranded 10 runners and did not allow an extra-base hit after the fourth inning to secure the shutout victory.
Carys Murakami paced the Rainbow Wahine offense with two hits, including a double, and one RBI. Millie Fidge also recorded two hits and drove in a run, while Kayara Tuiloma scored once after reaching base in the second inning. Bailey Nagasako added a pinch-hit double late in the contest.
UC Santa Barbara totaled nine hits but was unable to push a run across. Dani Rauscher led the Gauchos with three hits, while Emily Carr and Giselle Mejia each added two-hit performances. Sophia Clark kept UCSB within striking distance, allowing just two runs across 5.2 innings in the circle.
Hawai'i improved to 30-18 overall and advanced to Friday's winner's bracket semifinal against top-seeded CSF, while UCSB moved into the elimination bracket to continue the championship.

No. 5 seed Long Beach State stayed alive in the elimination bracket with a 6-1 victory over No. 4 seed UC Davis in Game 6 of the 2026 Big West Softball Championship at Anderson Family Field. The Beach jumped ahead with a three-run opening inning before adding three more runs in the sixth to seal the win.
Long Beach State collected 10 hits in the victory, led by Priscilla Iniguez, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Nina Sepulveda added two hits and an RBI, while Elissa Guerrero delivered a key two-run pinch-hit single in the sixth inning. Lina Apodaca doubled and scored, and Brooklyn Lee contributed two hits and a run scored.
Kate Barnett earned the win after allowing one run across four innings, while Isabella Alonso tossed three scoreless innings in relief to close out the contest. The Beach defense also turned two double plays behind the pitching staff.
UC Davis matched Long Beach State with 10 hits but stranded eight runners on base. Rylee Reeves recorded two hits, while Alyssa Dethlefson drove in the Aggies' lone run with a two-hit performance. Gia Felice and Claire Shelton each doubled in the loss.
Long Beach State improved to 31-22 overall and advanced to continue play in the elimination bracket, while UCD concluded its season at 29-25.
