Offensive Player of the Week 
Louis Sakanoko, Hawa'i | Junior • Outside Hitter • Paris, France
  • Leading Hawai’i to the season sweep over defending champion Long Beach State, Louis Sakanoko has been named The Big West Offensive Player of the Week. The award is the second of the season, also earning honors on March 2, and a third career nod.  

  • On Tuesday, Sakanoko was also tabbed as AVCA Volleyball National Collegiate Player of the Week.  

  • The junior from Paris, France, averaged 3.83 kills per set while hitting .571 for the series with only three attack errors in 35 attempts in the pair of road wins. Sakanoko also averaged 1.00 digs per set while adding four blocks and a pair of aces.  

  • Sakanoko played the first three sets Friday’s five-set series opener before succumbing to cramps. He departed the match with eight kills, four digs, an assist, block and ace.  

  • The outside hitter was nearly unstoppable in the rematch with a team-high 15 kills, hitting at a .619 clip with one ace, two digs, and three blocks in a straight-set win. 

  • Sakanoko is currently third in The Big West and 14th nationally, sporting a .376 hitting percentage on the season.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Quintin Greenidge, Hawai'i | Junior • Libero • Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
  • Anchoring the Hawai’i back row in a pair of road wins over No. 2 Long Beach State, Quintin Greenidge has claimed Big West Defensive Player of the Week for a third time on the season.  

  • The junior libero allowed only one ace in a team-high 45 combined reception attempts in the series. As a team, UH allowed only nine aces in the two matches (1.13 per set), well below LBSU’s nation-leading 2.80 aces per set average entering the weekend.  

  • In the series opener, the junior from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, did not commit a reception error in a team-high 34 attempts while popping up five digs along with five assists in the five-set victory. Greenidge closed with seven digs in the sweep to share team-high honors with 12 total digs, or 1.50 per set.  

  • Greenidge is now averaging 2.12 digs per set, second in The Big West.

Setter of the Week 
Tread Rosenthal, Hawai'i | Junior • Setter • Austin, Texas
  • With a fourth consecutive, eighth of the season and 13th all-time nod as Big West Setter of the Week, Tread Rosenthal of Hawai’i has again been tapped for honors.  

  • The junior from Austin, Texas, directed the Rainbow Warrior offense to a combined .349 hitting percentage in a pair of wins at No. 2 Long Beach State to sweep the season series.  

  • Rosenthal averaged 8.50 assists per set along with 1.25 kills per set, 1.13 digs per set and 0.88 blocks per set on the weekend, while surpassing the 3,000 career kill mark.  

  • In the series opener, Rosenthal posted 35 assists, a season-high seven kills, an ace, three digs and five blocks in the five-set wiin.  

  • In Saturday’s rematch, the setter tallied 33 assists, three kills, six digs and two blocks in a sweeping effort. 

  • Rosenthal leads The Big West and is second in national collegiate volleyball with a 10.97 assist average on the season. He is also currently in the top in in the conference in blocks and aces average.

Freshman of the Week 
Wojciech Gajek, Long Beach State | Freshman • Opposite Hitter • Katowice, Poland
  • 8042Long Beach State first-year player Wojciech Gajek has been named Big West Freshman of the Week. This is a second such award, also earning distinction on March 2. 

  • Gajek carried the offensive load with 38 kills, or 4.75 per et, on .375 hitting across eight sets of action, accounting for a significant share of LBSU’s 98 total kills in a pair of matches against Hawai’i.  

  • The opposite hitter produced match-high performances in both contests, including 22 kills on .381 hitting with eight digs and two aces in Friday’s five-setter.  

  • Saturday, the native of Katowice, Poland contributed a 16-kill effort on .367 hitting with five digs and three blocks for the Beach.  

  • Gajek currently serves up 0.479 aces per set to rank fourth in The Big West and 12th in the country.
