  • Long Beach State guard Gavin Sykes averaged 33.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and set the program's freshman scoring record to earn The Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. It is the second career weekly honor for Sykes, having won it once earlier this season.
  • The freshman scored 28 points, including going 5-for-11 from behind the arc, with three rebounds and two assists at Cal Poly, Thursday night.
  • The Sacramento, Calif. product went off for 39 points, including the game-winning shot, in an 88-87 road win at Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday.
  • Sykes is averaging a conferece second-best 18.8 points per game.
