Max Fardanesh Leads UC Irvine to Four Team Wins to Earn Weekly Honor

  • UC Irvine junior Max Fardanesh went 3-1 in singles and 3-0 in doubles to earn The Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor. It is Fardanesh's first career weekly honor from the conference.
  • The Albany, Calif. native started the week on Wednesday with a 6-3 win in No. 1 doubles decision against VCU's Nicolo Consonni and Gevorg Mnatsakanyan on Wednesday. In No. 2 singles, Fardanesh got the win after Erwann Bouchet was forced to retire. The Anteaters won the team battle 6-1. 
  • The UCI junior defeated Navy's Charlie Spencer in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles on Friday. The Anteaters swept the team matchup 7-0. 
  • Fardanesh and Sachdev downed Army's Daniel Choi and Jack Hanna 6-3 in No. 1 doubles. In No. 1 singles, Fardanesh bested Jackson Armistead in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5. UC Irvine got the team victory, 4-3. 
  • UC Irvine defeated Air Force, 4-2 on Saturday. Fardanesh and Sachdev took down Jack Brown and Tyler Leaird 6-2 in No. 1 doubles.
