Player of the Week Cecilia Costa, Long Beach State | Sophomore • Recife, Brazil

• Cecilia Costa of Long Beach State went undefeated in singles and doubles competitions to earn The Big West Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor. It is Costa's first career weekly honor from the conference.  

• On Friday against UC San Diego, Costa teamed up with Paulina Franco to defeat Olivia Allegre and Julia Visaya 6-4 at court 1 to clinch the doubles point. In No. 3 singles, Costa defeated Alisa Lansky in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. The Beach defeated the Tritons in team scoring, 4-3. 

• Costa and Franco earned the doubles point once again in Saturday's match against Sacramento State with a 6-3 decision over Lou Baudouin and Irene Riva. In No. 2 singles, Costa cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Baudouin. 

• Costa is 6-4 on the year in singles.
