The road to Long Beach begins Friday, Oct. 9, as conference play gets underway with all six programs boasting winning records. UC Irvine (14-5) leads the conference at No. 6 in the latest CWPA Poll (Oct. 7), followed by Long Beach State (11-4) at No. 7, UC San Diego (11-4) at No. 10, UC Santa Barbara (18-8) at No. 12, and California Baptist (19-4) at No. 16, while Cal State Fullerton (17-8) is receiving votes. The Lancers enter league play with a conference-best 19 victories, while the Titans carry an eight-game winning streak into the race for championship seeding.
