Hawai'i Trio Reid, Gunderson and Arquette Joined by LBSU's King for Big West Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors

Offensive Player of the Week 
Cha'lei Reid, Hawai'i | Freshman • Outside Hitter • La'ie, O'ahu
  • 8036Hawai’i freshman Cha’lei Reid powered the Rainbow Wahine to the OUTRIGGER Invitational tournament title en route to a first career Big West Offensive Player of the Week award. 

  • The outside hitter from La’ie, O’ahu put away 50 kills and served up 10 aces over three matches to claim Most Valuable Player status at the event.  

  • Reid opened the tournament by putting away 26 kills against San Jose State and finished the weekend averaging 4.55 kills per set as the d’Bows picked up a pair of sweeps against Utah Valley and St. John’s.  

  • Reid contributed six aces against the Red Storm on Sunday to post the program’s highest individual total since 2017. With 15 service aces on the season or 0.68 per set, Reid leads The Big West and ranks 31st nationally.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Bri Gunderson, Hawai'i | Senior • Middle Blocker • Ladera Ranch, Calif.
  • Hawai’i senior Bri Gunderson claimed Big West Defensive Player of the Week after stout play at the net in the OUTRIGGER Invitational. The award is a first career weekly honor, after Gunderson transferred into the UH program from Eastern Washington. 

  • Gunderson averaged 1.64 blocks per set to go along with 2.36 kills per set on .489 hitting and seven service aces to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.  

  • The middle blocker from Ladera Ranch, Calif., posted a season-high nine blocks, including two solo, in Friday’s sweep of Utah Valley to highlight the week’s blocking efforts. 

  • Gunderson leads The Big West and rates 37th in NCAA Division I with 1.43 blocks per set on the season.

Setter of the Week 
Adrianna Arquette, Hawai'i | Sophomore • Setter • Kailua, O'ahu
  • Hawai’i sophomore Adrianna Arquette guided the Rainbow Wahine offense to the OUTRIGGER Invitational title and a first career nod as Big West Setter of the Week.  

  • Arquette, a product of Kailua, O’ahu, averaged 10.27 assists per set over three matches, tying a season-high with 49 assists and 14 digs in the five-set opener against San Jose State.  

  • The setter directed an attack that hit a season-best .330 in a sweep of Utah Valley. Arquette finished with 34 assists, or 11.33 per set in the match.  

  • Arquette was also in on six blocks and had five aces in the tournament. As a team, UH averages a conference-leading 2.32 aces per set which stands at No. 13 in the country.

Freshman of the Week 
Logan King, Long Beach State | Redshirt Freshman • Opposite Hitter • Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
  • 8042Long Beach State’s Logan King led the Beach to a 2-2 week to earn back-to-back Big West Freshman of the Week awards.  

  • Playing No. 19 UCLA to five sets for the first time since 2013, King tallied 17 kills and five blocks in last Monday night’s clash. At San Francisco's Battle by the Bay, King paced the offense in the 3-0 loss to Portland State with 11 kills. 

  • King helped LBSU pick up a pair of wins, first taking down host Santa Clara in four at the Mission Classic as the opposite hitter tied with Elise Agi for the team-high with 16 kills to go along with 10 digs for the double-double. Closing the week with a 3-0 sweep of the host Dons at the Battle at the Bay, King hit .321 after recording 11 kills in the sweep. 

  • Playing all 22 sets on the week, the native of Newmarket, Ontario, averaged 4.52 points, 3.91 kills, 1.64 digs and 0.86 blocks per set.
