After a big weekend split over UC Irvine, UC San Diego senior Anthony Cherfan has been selected as Big West Offensive Player of the Week for April 7. This is a second career offensive award (April 15, 2024) and third overall, after claiming defensive honors on Jan. 6.

UC San Diego’s Bryce Dvorak earned Big West Setter of the Week after piloting the Tritons to a series split against UC Irvine.

Dvorak bumped the season average to 10.37 assists per set, good for second in The Big West and sixth in national collegiate volleyball.

In Saturday’s road rematch, Dvorak dished out 34 assists as the team hit .373 in the three-set loss.

In Friday’s four-set home victory, the graduate student from Newport Beach, Calif., racked up 60 assists while adding seven digs, with two aces, and a block

Dvorak totaled 94 assists (13.43 per set) and paced UCSD to a .395 attack percentage in seven sets of action.

Nikolov led the Beach to a .385 attack percentage while averaging 10.00 assists per set to go along with 1.43 digs, 1.29 kills, 0.43 blocks, and 0.43 aces per set.

In Thursday’s four-set road win, LBSU hit .412 with Nikolov dishing out 43 assists ran a balanced offense on the road at UCSB as the Beach hit .412, while he dished out 43 assists. An all around player, Nikolov also chipped in five kills on a .333 clip (5-1-12), five digs, two blocks, and two aces.

In LBSU's home match against the Gauchos, the native of Sofia, Bulgaria, distributed 27 assists to go along with five digs, four kills, one block and an ace.
