Arce and Lozano of CSF Reclaim Recognition While UCR’s Heinlin Hauls First Career Honor

Field Player of the Week 
Ava Arce, Cal State Fullerton | Junior • Infielder • Huntington Beach, Calif. 
  • 27265Ava Arce stuffed the stat sheet once again after reaching nine home runs for Cal State Fullerton with a pair of multi-run homers to win the Big West Field Player of the Week accolade for the third time this season (March 24, 31).  

  • The junior went a total of 4-for-9 at the plate for an average of .444 on the weekend. 

  • Arce hit a long ball in both games one and three bringing in a total of six RBI while also reaching home base four times along with a stolen base. 

  • After the series, Arce now resides second in the conference with 48 RBI in league play while in a tie for first place with seven bombs in Big West action.

Pitcher of the Week
Maddie Heinlin, UC Riverside | Senior • Pitcher •  Pleasanton, Calif.  
  • 8135Maddie Heinlin managed to take home the first Big West Pitcher of the Week award of the senior’s career after collecting two complete game victories in a series win over Cal Poly.  

  • During game-one, the right-handed pitcher turned in a complete game shutout while sitting down five Mustang batters and only allowing a pair of hits in the process.  

  • Overall, Heinlin held the opposition to a .184 average in 14.0 IP alongside ten strikeouts while amassing a nearly perfect ERA of 0.50 in the series.    

  • The Pleasanton, Calif. native is currently spinning a Big West best ERA in both the conference (1.43) and overall (2.54) segments, while simultaneously sitting third place in conference in batters struck out (51) and IP (68.2).

Freshman of the Week 
Nataly Lozano, Cal State Fullerton |  Utility • Chula Vista, Calif.  
  • 27265Cal State Fullerton’s Nataly Lozano claims The Big West Freshman of the Week honor for the second straight week and third overall award in 2025 (March 10, April 7) after slashing .800/.800/1.000 in another important league series. This is the first time since 2023 a freshman has received FOTW recognition in consecutive weeks.       

  • Overall, the freshman went 8-for-10 at the plate alongside a pair of doubles, three RBI and five runs scored in the Titan’s sweep over conference foe CSUN.   

  • Lozano leads the league in multiple categories during conference play including batting average (.483), hits (29), and ranks second in The Big West in runs scored at 19.
