Cal Poly's Izzy Martinez and Logan Walter Named Big West Pairs Team of the Week

  • 8038Playing at the No. 2 spot in the lineup, Cal Poly's Izzy Martinez and Logan Walter went 3-1 against fierce competitors to claim Big West Pairs Team of the Week for March 4. 

  • A new pairing in 2025, Martinez and Walter beat teams from No. 1 UCLA, No. 8 Long Beach State and Concordia at the Battle for LA. Their only loss came against No. 2 LMU in the Battle for LA, as Cal Poly split the weekend. 

  • The duo was the lone point for the Mustangs in the matchup with the Bruins, taking the three-setter 21-15, 16-21, 15-13. Martinez and Walter needed just two in the match against Julia Westbay and Skyler Germann of LBSU.  

  • This is a second career weekly nod for both Martinez and Walter, who each won once in 2024 with different partners. Martinez is part of the reigning Big West Pairs Team of the Year duo. (Ella Connor).
