Field Player of the Week  Ava Arce, Cal State Fullerton | Junior • Infielder • Huntington Beach, Calif.

• Junior Ava Arce accumulates back-to-back The Big West Field Player of the Week honors after hitting a home run in every game against Hawai’i. This is the second weekly distinction of the junior’s career.    

• Arce attributed a slash line of .400/.400/1.300 to highlight the Titans while simultaneously adding a team-high seven home runs after hitting a trio over the weekend.  

• The Huntington Beach native also tabbed four RBI and crossed home plate three times in the series against the Rainbow Wahine. Defensively, Arce was perfect in the field recording 22 putouts.  

• Currently, Arce ranks fifth overall in The Big West at a .475 batting average and sits fourth overall in the league with seven total runs.

Pitcher of the Week Kate Barnett, Long Beach State | Sophomore • Pitcher • Nipomo, Calif.

• Kate Barnett boasts The Big West Pitcher of the Week accolade for the first time in the sophomore’s career after collecting a pair of complete games in Long Beach State’s series sweep over UC Davis.  

• The pitcher only allowed one run while striking out three UCD batters in a series clinching 3-1 win during game two.  

• Barnett garnered another complete game after only allowing one run on three hits in a decisive 6-1 victory.  

• After the two appearances, the sophomore’s ERA slid down to 1.51 on the season paired with a 1.52 mark in league action.

Freshman of the Week  Lina Apocada, Long Beach State | Catcher/Outfielder • Camarillo, Calif.

• Lina Apodaca lands The Big West Freshman of the Week award after hitting safely in all three games during Long Beach State’s sweep versus UC Davis. 

• The freshman found three hits over the weekend which led to an OBP of .538 alongside an astounding batting average of .500.  
  

• Apodaca put together two RBI and scored a run after going 4-for-5 in the series finale against the Aggies.
