Cal Poly's Kennedy Buntrock Claims Second Straight Player of the Week Award

  • Cal Poly junior Kennedy Buntrock went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles on the week to earn The Big West Women's Tennis Player of the Week. It is Buntrock's second straight and third career weekly honor, having won it last week and once in 2023. 
  • IIn a 7-0 win over Santa Clara on Saturday, Buntrock helped Cal Poly clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at No. 2 and then at the No. 1 singles spot only dropped one game en route to a 6-1, 6-0 win.
     
  • In a 7-0 victory over CSUN on Sunday, Buntrock and doubles partner Romane Mosse picked up their third straight victory to improve to 8-3 on the season. Then at No. 1 in singles, Buntrock completed the sweep for the Mustangs by shutting out Yuliia Zhytelna in a super tiebreaker in the third set, winning 10-0.
