Cal Poly’s Mary Carter led the Mustangs on the week to help the team secure the final place in the bracket of the 2025 Big West Women’s Basketball Championship, presented by Credit Union 1 to claim a first career Big West Player of the Week. 

Carter averaged 22.0 points on 47 percent shooting with 3.50 rebounds per game in a weekend split. 

The sophomore from Rocklin, Calif., scored 17 points while going 5-for-9 from distance at Cal State Fullerton Thursday as the Mustangs punched their ticket to the postseason.  

On Saturday, Carter poured in a career-high 27 points against Long Beach State again connecting on five three-pointers and going 11-for-20 from the field.  

After the weekend outburst from three-point range, Carter upped the season average to 1.83 per game, sixth in The Big West.
