Field Player of the Week

Infielder Alexis Chavez aided the Matadors to record their most hits in a single contest since 2004 to take home The Big West Field Player of the Week distinction. This is the first weekly honor of the senior’s career.

The Matadors scored 12 runs off 19 hits in the team’s series finale in the conference opener against Cal Poly. CSUN’s 19 hits are tied for the third most all-time in program history.

Chavez went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and knocked in a pair of RBIS in the convincing 12-0 victory.

Over the course of three games, the infielder was perfect in the field (11 putouts) while batting .667 across six hits, 3 RBI and two walks in nine appearances at the plate.

The last time CSUN enjoyed a conference sweep on the road was in 2023.

Pitcher of the Week

Pitcher Lauryn Carranco tossed a 1.17 ERA while going a perfect 2-0 to begin league play for CSUN and capture The Big West Pitcher of the Week award. This is the sixth weekly distinction of the junior’s career after earning the Freshman of the week three times in 2023 (April 3, April 24 and May 8), and Pitcher of the Week twice in 2024 (Feb. 19, March 4).

The pitcher struck out seven batters in CSUN’s conference opening 7-2 victory over Cal Poly.

The Matadors managed to run-rule the Mustangs in the series finale as Curranco collected a shutout win across 77 pitches and only five hits in the 12-0 showing.

Carranco leads the league in batters sat down (55) which also ranks in a tie for 65th overall amongst all NCAA Division I student-athletes.

Utility Nataly Lozano led Cal State Fullerton at the plate in the team's conference opening sweep over UC San Diego to claim The Big West Freshman of the Week accolade. This is the first weekly award for Lozano’s career.

In three games against the Tritons, Lozano logged a home run, a double, and a walk alongside four runs and an RBI. Overall, Lozano slashed .600/.636/1.000 while going 6-for-10 at the plate.
- The freshman leads the Titans with three home runs and is tied for second in hits (25).
