Offensive Player of the Week
Hilir Henno, UC Irvine | Senior • Outside Hitter • Pornichet, France
  • UC Irvine senior Hilir Henno led the Anteaters in a pair of sweeping victories at No. 9 Stanford to garner a ninth career Big West Offensive Player of the Week award and 15th overall weekly nod.  

  • Henno averaged 5.83 points, 4.67 kills, 1.50 digs, 0.83 service aces and 0.67 blocks on the week for the second-ranked UCI squad. 

  • In Friday’s match, the outside hitter had 15 kills on .500 hitting (15-3-24) with a pair of aces and two blocks.  

  • In Saturday’s series finale, the native of Pornichet, France, totaled 13 kills along with eight digs, three aces and a pair of dentials. The lefty led UCI in the third set that the Anteaters won 33-31 with a team-best four kills, four digs and two blocks as the team improved to 7-0 on the season.  

  • The defending Big West and AVCA National Player of the Year is currently in the national listings in multiple offensive categories, including points per set (5.43 - 2nd), aces per set (0.957 - 2nd), kills per set (4.13 - 6th) and hitting percentage (0.362 - 23rd).

Defensive Player of the Week
Kurt Nusterer, Hawai'i | Junior • Middle Blocker • Indianapolis, Ind.
  • 9Hawai’i middle blocker Kurt Nusterer was a force on the front line as the No. 4 Rainbow Warriors took a pair of matches at No. 5 BYU over the weekend. For the efforts Nusterer was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week for a second career honor.  

  • The product of Indianapolis, Ind., averaged 2.22 blocks per set fpr UH, making a career high of 10 blocks in each of the two matches in Provo, Utah.  

  • Nusterer helped the ’Bows record a season-best 18.5 blocks in the five-set opener, contributing one solo and nine assisted on Friday. With another 10-block effort in the rematch, UH limited the Cougars to a .147 team hitting percentage in the four-set Hawai’i victory.  

  • An eye-popping seven of Nusterer’s 10 blocks on Saturday came in the opening frame of the action.  

  • Nusterer currently averages 1.222 blocks per set, good for fourth in The Big West and 12th nationally.

Setter of the Week
Joe Karlous, UC Irvine | Graduate Student • Setter • Costa Mesa, Calif.
  • UC Irvine’s Joe Karlous guided the Anteaters toa pair of road sweeps against No. 9 Stanford to secure back-to-back nods at Big West Setter of the Week. 

  • The graduate student totaled 31 set assists, nine digs, an ace and two block assists, including a solo in the first 3-0 decision against the Cardinal.  

  • Karlous then played in a 6-2 on Saturday, totaling 19 set assists, six digs and one block assist to bring the weekly averages to 8.33 assist and 2.50 digs per set.  

  • The Costa Mesa, Calif., native currently leads The Big West in digs per set at 2.45, good for ninth in the nation. The 9.74 assists per set rates fourth in the league and 16th in national collegiate volleyball.

Freshman of the Week
Kristian Titriyski, Hawai'i | Freshman • Opposite Hitter • Sofia, Bulgaria
  • Hawai’i first-year player Kristian Titriyski has picked up a first career Big West Freshman of the Week award after helping the Rainbow Warriors to a pair of wins at No. 5 BYU.  

  • Titriyski averaged 4.11 kills per set and 5.22 points per set with 11 total blocks, eight digs and four aces in the two-match series in Provo. in UH's two road wins at No. 5 BYU 

  • On Friday, the opposite hitter pounded a career-high 20 kills on .333 hitting to go along with three aces and four blocks in the five-set win. Seven kills came in the marathon final frame, including three that erased match point opportunities.  

  • In Saturday’s 3-1 win, the native of Sofia, Bulgaria, tallied 17 kills and career-highs of seven digs and seven blocks. Titriyski had two clutch kills in the fourth and final set to give UH it’s 22nd and 23rd points.  

  • Titriyski rates fifth in The Big West and sixth in the country in points per set at 4.89 and stands in fourth nationally in aces per set (0.704).
