Field Player of the Week  Tiara Westbrook, CSUN | Sophomore • Infielder • Arcadia, Calif.

• Tiara Westbrook takes home Big West Field Player of the Week recognition after slugging .822 and posting an OBP of .588 to highlight CSUN during its action at the Mary Nutter Classic. This is the sophomore’s first career weekly distinction.   

• In total, Westbrook batted .588 alongside six RBIs, 10 hits and a home run in CSUN’s showing this week. 

• The sophomore recorded multiple hits and RBI in four of the Matador’s five games in the Mary Nutter Classic. 

• Three hits and three RBIs by Westbrook highlighted CSUN in the sophomore’s best outing of the season. 

• The Oregon State transfer leads CSUN in both hits (15) and RBI (10) while ranking 16th and 14th in the conference in both categories, respectively.

Pitcher of the Week Addison Kostrencich, Hawai'i | Redshirt junior • Pitcher •  Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

• Addison Kostrencich put together a 2-1 week that included a complete shutout for Hawai’i to capture The Big West Pitcher of the Week award. This is the first weekly distinction of the senior’s career.    

• The Rancho Palos Verdes native notched two strikeouts and only allowed a lone walk while tossing a complete game in UH’s 2-1 victory over California Baptist to start the week on Wednesday.  

• In the Mary Nutter Classic, Kostrencich secured another complete game performance in shutout fashion over Nevada alongside six strikeouts.  

• Overall, the senior pitcher posted a team-best in 2.17 ERA and innings pitched (19.1) last week in tournament play for the Rainbow Wahine.  

• Kostrencich currently sits second in The Big West in innings pitched (47.5) and third in the conference in wins with five. UH has racked up a 10-6 overall record so far in 2025.

Freshman of the Week  Maalia Cherry, Cal State Bakersfield | Freshman • Infielder • Hayward, Calif.

• Maalia Cherry receives consecutive Big West Freshman of the Week accolades after another astounding week for Cal State Bakersfield. This is the third weekly distinction of the freshman’s career after earning Field Player and Freshman a week ago on Feb. 17, 2025.    

• Cherry went yard twice this week, beginning against Montana and once more versus Pacific. The HR against the Tigers helped spark CSUB’s 6-5 comeback bid where the freshman would eventually hit the walk-off.  
  

• Overall, the freshman phenom slugged .692 on the week and touched base a total of nine times while bringing home four runs and turned in a perfect effort defensively at first base.
