Efforts in Big Road Wins Earn CSUN’s Marcus Adams Jr. Player of the Week Award

  • CSUN’s Marcus Adams Jr. averaged 21.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in two road wins to claim The Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. It is Adams Jr.’s second career weekly honor, having won it once earlier this year on Jan. 6.
     
  • The Matador sophomore shot 55.6 percent (15-of-27) from the field, 40 percent (6-of-15) from behind the arc and 87.5 percent (7-of-8) from the charity stripe on the week.
     
  • The Torrance, Calif. product scored a team-high 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go with five rebounds, three assists and two steals in an 84-72 road win at UC Irvine. Twenty of Adams Jr.’s 24 points in the second half, including a big dunk in the final minute to secure the victory. It was the first win at UC Irvine since 2020.
     
  • The Matador forward scored 19 points, with seven rebounds in a come-from-behind 65-62 triumph at UC Davis. The win at UC Davis was CSUN's first since 2009.
  • The Matadors are currently on a seven-game win streak for a 20-7 overall record with a 12-4 conference mark. It is the first time since 2008 that CSUN has reached 20 total wins. Adams is averaging 16.3 points per game on 53.4 percent shooting this season.
