Savannah Tucker's Scoring Outburst for Long Beach State Nets Big West Player of the Week Honors

  • 8042Long Beach State's Savannah Tucker averaged nearly 30 points per game last week to secure a split on the week and Big West Player of the Week. This is Tucker’s second such award, also garnering honors back on Dec. 9, 2024. 

  • The guard led the Beach in both contests on the week, averaging 29.5 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the field to go along with 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks.  

  • Tucker scored 26 points on the road at UC Davis as the game's leading scorer in Thursday’s loss to the Aggies.  

  • The Fresno, Calif., native, then scored a career-high 33 points in an 88-65 road win at CSUN. Tucker was 7-of-12 from distance against the Matadors and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in both contests. The 33-point outburst was the highest tally of the year in The Big West and is a first career 30-point game for Tucker. 

  • The senior leads The Big West in scoring average, bumping the number to 17.23 points per game after the stellar week. A workhorse for LBSU, Tucker averages 37.23 minutes per game, which ranks fourth in NCAA Division I.
