Field Player of the Week 
Ainsley Waddell, UC Santa Barbara | Sophomore • Designated Player • San Carlos, Calif.  
  • 23828UC Santa Barbara sophomore Ainsley Waddell slashed .474/.565/1.158 and four home runs as the Gauchos went 5-1 in six games to take home The Big West Field Player of the Week award. It is Waddell's first career Field Player of the Week award, having won four Freshman of the Week in 2024. 

  • Waddell compiled at least one hit in every game over the weekend.

  • The designated player started off with a 1-for-3 performance in a 1-0 loss to Colorado State, Friday. 

  • In the second game of the day on Friday, Waddell hit 1-for-3 with one run in a 10-8 win against New Mexico State. 

  • In a 10-2 victory over Colorado State, Saturday, the San Carlos, Calif. native hit two home runs, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and three runs. 

  • Waddell hit 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run and a home run in a 8-7 win at New Mexico State, Saturday. 

  • In the first game of a doubleheader at UTEP, Sunday, the sophomore hit a home run as the Gauchos prevailed 10-9. 

  • In a 12-1 win to close the weekend at UTEP, Sunday, Waddell went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Pitcher of the Week
Bailee Bustos, Cal State Bakersfield | Junior • Pitcher •  Tulare, Calif.  
  • 8014Cal State Bakersfield pitcher Bailee Bustos went 2-1 with a 0.31 ERA in 22.1 innings of work in the circle to clinch The Big West Pitcher of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor of Bustos' career. 

  • The righty started got things started, coming in relief in the first inning and throwing 6.2 innings of one run ball with a strikeout in a 3-2 loss against NC State, Friday. 

  • In the nightcap against UCF Friday, Bustos threw 1.2 innings of relief and gave up no runs. 

  • The Tulare, Calif. product threw a complete game shutout in a 2-0 victory against James Madison, Saturday. 

  • Bustos closed the weekend with another complete game shutout, this time a 4-0 win over Illinois and tallied two strikeouts, Sunday.

Freshman of the Week 
Brynne Nally, Long Beach State | Freshman • Pitcher • Garden Grove, Calif.
  • 22178Long Beach State freshman pitcher Brynne Nally went 2-0 in 11.2 innings of work to earn The Big West Freshman of the Week award. It is the first weekly distinction of Nally's collegiate career.    

  • In the rookie's collegiate debut on Friday against Seattle U, Nally got the start and tossed 6.0 innings, giving up one earned run and striking out two in a 7-6 win for the Beach. 

  • The Garden Grove, Calif. native tossed 2.2 shutout innings in relief and struckout four batters against second-ranked and four-time defending national champion Oklahoma.
