- UC Santa Barbara guard Aidan Mahaney averaged 28.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 in two wins to earn The Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor for Mahaney. The Gaucho guard was also named Lou Henson National Player of the Week.
- The senior dropped 26 points with six rebounds and three assists in an 84-77 overtime win against Long Beach State, Thursday. Mahaney went 11-for-11 from the free throw line in the game.
- In a 109-84 home victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday, Mahaney recorded a career-high 30 points, on 11-of-13 shooting from the floor and 7-for-7 from 3-point range, to go along with four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
- In the two wins, the UCSB guard shot 62.1 percent (18-of-29) on field goals and 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from 3-point range.
- UC Santa Barbara is 8-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play to start the 2025 season. Mahaney is averaging a 15.6 points per game, shooting 45.3 percent from long distance.
