Big West Leading Scorer Vanessa McManus of Cal Poly Claims Player of the Week Award

  • 8038Vanessa McManus kept up the incredible scoring start to the season for Cal Poly to claim a first career nod as Big West Player of the Week. 

  • The transfer from Saint Leo began the week with 22 points with five rebounds and two assists at Eastern Washington. 

  • McManus then scored a career-high 34 points against Southern Utah with the sophomore stretching the game to overtime with a game-tying three as regulation expired. The guard from Staten Island, NY, was 13-of-26 from the field while adding seven rebounds and four assists to the stat sheet.  

  • The 34 point-outing is the most scored by a Mustang in a game since December 2020, and is tied for 11th-most in the nation thus far this season.. 

  • McManus is averaging 25.2 points per game to top The Big West which rates sixth in NCAA Division I.
