• Cal Poly guard Cayden Ward scored a career-high 28 points in a win to earn The Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor for Ward.

• The sophomore dropped 28 points, shooting 9-of-14 from the floor with three 3-pointers, with a season-best eight rebounds in a 92-85 road victory at Utah on Thursday. For the Mustangs, it was the first win against a current Big 12 program since defeating Arizona State in 1949.

• Cal Poly has a 3-3 overall record. Ward is averaging 16.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
