2025 Women's Soccer All-Big West Team (.pdf)
The Big West has announced its 2025 all-conference teams and major award winners ahead of Sunday’s start of the 2025 Big West Women’s Soccer Championship. Student-athletes from all eleven institutions have received recognition across the distinctive lists or honor.
Cal Poly junior forward Annika Smith headlines the list as The Big West Offensive Player of the Year after scoring seven times for the Mustangs this season. The Scottsdale, Ariz. native notched a Big West best 10 points in conference play this season, including four goals in the span.
Teammate Brennan Cole, a senior defender, was voted Defensive Player of the Year, marking the second straight season a Mustang has earned the distinction. Cole contributed to a Mustang backline that shut its opponents out eight times this season, featuring five clean sheets in league play.
UC Irvine senior Mia Colombini was honored as The Big West Midfielder of the Year, becoming the first Anteater to receive the award since 2021. Colombini served as the leading scorer for the ‘Eaters, earning seven tallies (tied for first in league) and and 15 points, which also led UCI this season.
Isaac Ranson of Cal State Fullerton racked up Goalkeeper of the Year accolades after anchoring the Titans’ defense to their sixth straight appearance in The Big West Championship. Heading into the postseason, Ranson recorded a fourth straight clean sheet with four saves in a 2-0 win at Cal State Bakersfield, securing a 12th win and 12th shutout of the season. The performance moved Ranson into third all-time in Big West history with 30 career shutouts and tied the second-best single-season mark of 12, while ranking second nationally.
Ava Tibor takes home Freshman of the Year recognition for UC San Diego following a breakout debut campaign for the Tritons. The forward earned Freshman of the Week honors twice this season after scoring a brace both times. Tibor six total tallies led all first-year players in 2025.
Gina Brewer was named Coach of the Year, guiding CSUN to its first regular-season championship since 2016 and postseason appearance since 2019. The Matadors amassed a 6-1-3 mark in league play alongside an 8-7-4 overall record and earned the right to host the upcoming semifinals and final in Northridge, Calif.
All-conference first-team honors featured representation from Cal Poly, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, and UC Santa Barbara.
Cole and Smith of CP were joined by Mustang teammate Madelyn Dougherty, who dominated on the pitch as the league leader in assists (8). The midfielder also found the back of the net five times for the ‘Stangs in 2025.
Cal State Bakersfield places Cynthia Ramirez on the first team, who led the Roadrunners offense with five scores and two assists (12 points) and helped the team secure its second postseason berth in school history.
Cal State Fullerton also celebrates Camryn Cruz, Isabella Cruz, along Ranson on the first team. The Cruz tandem both sit atop The Big West, tied at five game-winning goals this season. Bella led the league with 19 total points while Camryn captured 13 on the year.
Paige Califf and Sydney Lipkin of CSUN captured first-team honors. Califf helped control the midfield for the Matadors in 2025 while dishing out two assists and three tallies, as Lipkin led a backline that recorded seven shutouts in conference play.
UC Irvine boasts graduate student Suus de Bakker on the first team next to Colombini. De Bakker did it all for UCI this season, scoring five times from the defender spot.
Olivia Howard and Sofie Rodriguez were rewarded first-team distinction for UC Santa Barbara this season. Howard harnessed a Guacho best six goals while former Big West Championship MVP Rodriguez remained solid on the backline, contributing to the team’s nine shutouts.
Cal Poly’s Jessie Halladay, Cal State Bakersfield’s Mya Fortun, Cal State Fullerton’s Taya Townsell, CSUN’s Cailey Jackson and Riley Liebsack, Nalani Damacion of Hawai’i, Long Beach State's Radisson Banks, UC San Diego’s Ava Tibor, and UC Santa Barbara’s trio of Emily Caughey. Emma Corcoran and Haley Phillips have captured All-Big West second team status for the 2025 season.
Mia DiLeo of UC Riverside, Jaiden Gore of Cal State Bakersfield, Kayalily Penn and Sienna Pimentel of Cal State Fullerton Shannon Porubski of Cal Poly, Natalie Sheffey of UC Santa Barbara, Fiona Shin of UC Irvine, Ava Tibor and Charoltte Wilfert of UC San Diego, Ameera White of Long Beach State, Reese Wroblewski of UC Santa Barbara and Alex Valente of CSUN have been named to the 2025 Big West All-Freshman Team following exceptional campaigns during their first year’s on the pitch, respectively. 26 student-athletes were also named to the honorable mention list.
With the postseason bracket officially set, first-round action kicks off Sunday, Nov. 2, as No. 3 Cal State Fullerton hosts No. 6 Cal State Bakersfield at 5 p.m., followed by No. 5 UC Santa Barbara traveling to No. 4 UC Irvine for a 6 p.m. start.
Winners from Sunday's opening matches will advance to meet top seeds CSUN and Cal Poly in Thursday's semifinals. The semifinal slate is set for 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Nov. 6, leading to the championship showdown on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m., where Big West supremacy will be on the line.
The Big West Champion earns the league's automatic berth into the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. The 64-team NCAA field will be announced live on NCAA.com on Monday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. PT.
