Trio from League Undefeateds Long Beach State and UC Davis Earn Big West Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week 
Logan King, Long Beach State | Redshirt Freshman • Opposite Hitter • Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
  • Long Beach State first-year player Logan King helped the Beach knock off top competition to earn a season- and career-first nod as Big West Offensive Player of the Week.  

  • King averaged 4.88 points, 4.38 kills, and 2.25 digs per set as the Beach recorded back-to-back 3-1 victories against UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly over the weekend to send LBSU off to its first 4-0 Big West start since 2014.  

  • The 6-2 opposite hitter recorded a fifth double-double of the year with 14 kills and 10 digs against the Gauchos on Friday night.  

  • On Saturday, King hit .400, recording a season-high 21 kills against the Mustangs to go along with eight digs, four blocks and four assists. The double-figure kill mark is the 13th in 15 matches thus far in 2025. 

  • The product of Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, is currently third in The Big West in both kills (3.70) and points (4.35) per set.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Ximena Cordero Barr, UC Davis | Sophomore • Libero • Tijuana, Mexico
  • After a pair of home wins to remain undefeated in league play, UC Davis libero Ximena Cordero Barr collected back-to-back nods as Big West Defensive Player of the Week. 

  • Cordero Barr opened the weekend with 20 digs and eight assists in Thursday’s sweep of Cal State Fullerton in UC Davis’ home opener of the 2025 campaign. 

  • In Saturday’s 3-1 victory against UC Irvine, saw the sophomore from Tijuana, Mexico, scoop up a career-best 35 digs with four assists and an ace. The 35-dig effort is good for fourth nationally in digs in a four-set match. 

  • Averaging 7.86 digs per set on the weekend, Cordero Barr bumped the season average to 4.44 which rates second in The Big West.

Setter of the Week 
Mia Starr, UC Davis | Junior • Setter • Portland, Ore.
  • 8137Guiding UC Davis to a pair of wins in a home-opening weekend, junior Mia Starr has been named Big West Setter of the Week. This is Starr’s second career honor, picking up the award back on Oct. 14, 2025. 

  • In a sweep of Cal State Fullerton on Thursday night, Starr recorded 38 assists, or 12.67 per set to guide the offense to a .376 team hitting percentage, their best outing of the season. Starr also added three kills, four digs and two blocks to the tally against the Titans. 

  • The junior from Portland, Ore., went off for a double-double of 46 assists with 11 digs in the four-set win over UC Irvine on Saturday to set the Aggies as one of just two teams still unbeaten in conference play.   

  • Starr’s 10.16 assists per set average this season leads The Big West and ranks 26th in NCAA Division I. Starr is the only player in the conference averaging at least 10 assist per set.
