Offensive Player of the Week 
Annika Smith, Cal Poly | Junior • Forward • Scottsdale, Ariz. 
  • 8038Cal Poly junior Annika Smith netted a pair of second half strikes to lead the Mustangs past Cal State Fullerton, earning Big West Offensive Player of the Week honors. This is the fifth weekly distinction of Smith’s career after earning an OPOTW nod on Sept. 29, 2025, after earning Freshman of the Week on Sept 18 2023, and won both POTW and FOTW on Oct. 2, 2023. 

  • Smith recorded the forward’s third career brace and fourth career multi-goal game, scoring in the 52nd and 81st minutes to secure the 2-0 home victory. 

  • The junior currently sits in a tie atop the Big West with seven goals and leads the league in points with 17 (seven goals, three assists). 

  • Smith has tallied three game-winners this season (tied for third-most in the conference) and has started in 24 consecutive matches for the Mustangs.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Maddie Buckley, UC Santa Barbara | Junior • Goalkeeper • Lafayette, Calif. 
  • 8134Maddie Buckley stood tall in net once again for UC Santa Barbara and secured a statement win over an undefeated Big West to secure The Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor for the second time this season. This is the fourth weekly distinction of Buckley’s career (Sept. 1, 2025 | Sept. 2 & Oct. 21, 2024).  

  • The junior recorded five saves against the undefeated Titans en route to orchestrating the team’s sixth clean sheet of the season.  

  • Buckley’s biggest stop came right after the lone goal of the game by the Gauchos and allowed the team to secure the shutout and climb atop The Big West standings with 11 points.  

  • In conference matches, the netminder has corralled 3.60 saves per game and currently ranks second in save percentage (.900) and goals against average (.400).

Freshman of the Week 
Shannon Porubski, Cal Poly | Goalkeeper • Rocklin, Calif. 
  • 8038Shannon Porubski secured the freshman’s fourth weekly distinction of the season (FOTW | Sept. 1, DPOTW| Sept. 8 & 29, 2025) after posting a big-time shutout for Cal Poly.    

  • To start things off, Proubski tallied three saves against 16 total shots faced on the road against Hawai’i. 

  • During the freshman’s 10th straight start, Porubski came up with a crucial first-half save on Sunday to help secure the team’s sixth shutout of the year against the Titans.
