Offensive Player of the Week 
Breeze Czapinski, UC Davis | Junior • Outside Hitter • Ramona, Calif.
  • Helping UC Davis to a two-win week to remain unbeaten in league play, Breeze Czapinski has been named Big West Offensive Player of the Week for a first career occasion. 

  • The native of Ramona, Calif., recorded 31 kills across two matches, averaging 3.88 kills and 4.31 points per set in home wins against UC San Diego and previous league-unbeaten Long Beach State. The 6-0 start in Big West action marks the best beginning UCD has enjoyed in league play.  

  • In Thursday’s five-set victory over the Tritons, Czapinski was one of four players to post 10+ kills in a reverse sweep of the Tritons. Playing in just four sets, the junior outside hitter racked up 14 kills on .455 hitting with four blocks and a pair of digs.  

  • In a first-place matchup with Long Beach State on Saturday, Czapinski led all players with a career-high 17 kills on .424 hitting while putting up three total blocks in the 3-1 win.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Jessica Dean, UC Riverside | Senior • Libero/Defensive Specialist • San Mateo, Calif.
  • 8135UC Riverside’s Jessica Dean dug out a third career Big West Defensive Player of the Week award after helping the Highlanders to a weekend split. Dean’s previous honors came in 2024 (Sept. 23 and Nov. 25). 

  • Holding down the back row for UCR, the senior libero/defensive specialist averaged 5.50 digs to go along with 1.50 assists per set in the home weekend. 

  • The week was highlighted by a career-high 30 dig outing with eight assists in a five-set victory against UC San Diego on Saturday. As a team, the Highlanders finished with 81 digs, which rates third in The Big West this year and is tops for a five-set match. 

  • Dean opened the week by popping up 14 digs with four assists in a three-setter against Long Beach State. 

  • The senior from San Mateo, Calif., is currently averaging a conference-best 4.55 digs per set on the season.

Setter of the Week 
Mia Starr, UC Davis | Junior • Setter • Portland, Ore.
  • Continuing to guide UC Davis to their best start in conference play in program history, Mia Starr went back-to-back for Big West Setter of the Week acclaim. The honor is a third career nod for the junior from Portland, Ore. 

  • Starr compiled 94 total assists, or 10.44 per set, as the Aggies defeated UC San Diego and Long Beach State.  

  • In a reverse sweep of the Tritons on Thursday, Starr tied a season-high with 48 assists, also grabbing three kills, five digs, and a block.  

  • In Saturday’s matchup for first place in the league standings, Starr assisted on 46 plays in the four-set victory. The setter also added 15 digs for a fifth double-double of the season.  

  • Starr leads The Big West and ranks 28th nationally with a 10.21 assists per set average.

Freshman of the Week 
Logan King, Long Beach State | Redshirt Freshman • Opposite Hitter • Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
  • 8042Long Beach State first-year player Logan King earned a fourth nod as Big West Freshman of the Week after the Beach split their road weekend. 

  • The opposite hitter averaged 4.18 points, 3.29 kills, 3.29 digs, and 1.14 blocks per set, opening the week with 11 kills, eight digs and five total blocks in a sweep at UC Riverside.  

  • In Saturday 3-1 loss to UC Davis, which broke LBSU's nine-match winning streak, King recorded a sixth double-double of the season with 12 kills and a season-high 15 digs to go along with three blocks. 

  • The redshirt freshman from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, currently ranks third in The Big West in both kills (3.65) and points (4.33) per set. The points per set average stands in fourth for a first-year collegian behind competitors from the SEC, Big 12 and Patriot League.
