UC San Diego junior Sabrina Ma helped the Tritons extend its home winning streak to five to pick up a first career Big West Player of the Week award. 

Ma recorded back-to-back 17-point performances, going 9-of-15 (60 percent) from three-point range and 57.9 percent from the floor to lead the UCSD scoring. 

On Thursday, Ma finished with a team-high 17 points—including four made three-pointers—to help UC San Diego hand Long Beach State its first conference loss, 79-68. The guard also added seven rebounds and two assists in the victorious effort. 

The San Francisco native began Saturday’s contest against UC Riverside 5-for-5 from beyond the arc and led the team once again with 17 points in a 59-58 victory.  

Ma moved up to third in The Big West in three-pointers per game (2.32) and three-point percentage (40.0) on the season.
