Annika Shah of Cal Poly Captures Second Career Big West Weekly Accolade

  • 8038Following an undefeated weekend, senior Annika Shah shined bright for Cal Poly to claim Big West Player of the Week honors, as presented by Hercules Tires. This is the second weekly distinction of the guard's career after being recognized two weeks ago (Dec. 30). 

  • Shah scored the highest point total of the senior's career with 27 points against UC San Diego to start the week. The Palo Alto, Cailf. native went 7-8 from three while also adding five assists and five rebounds to the stat sheet. This was the fourth time Shah has scored 20 or more points this season. 

  • In Saturday's 51-50 road win over rival UC Santa Barbara, the guard gathered eight points, two assists, four rebounds and a steal to close out the week. 

  • Currently, Shah ranks fourth amongst all Big West student-athletes in points per game (14.6), second in field goal percentage (.434) tops in 3-PT % (.426) and averages the most three-pointers per game (3.1).
