Kaylee Noble, Taya Townsell and Nalani Damacion Claim First Set of Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week 
Kaylee Nobel, Cal State Fullerton | Sophomore • Forward • Lakewood, Calif. 
  • 27265Cal State Fullerton forward Kaylee Noble takes Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in the sophomore's career following an impressive performance in the Titan's 3-0 win over San Diego.   

  • The reigning 2023 Big West Freshman of the Year started 2024 hot by recording a brace in the opening match. In less than 30 minutes, Nobel notched two tallies in the 32nd and 44th minute to extend the Titan lead to 3-0 entering the half. Two of the forward's three total shots found the back of the net that night.  

  • CSF sits as the lone undefeated squad after one match in The Big West with all teams currently sitting at a mark of .500 or less following two games this past weekend.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Taya Townsell, Cal State Fullerton | Redshirt Junior • Defender • Chino, Calif. 
  • 27265Taya Townsell helped hold down the Titan's backline during the 3-0 triumph over the Toreros to take home the Big West Defensive Player of the Week award. This is the first weekly award of Townsell's career.    

  • Cal State Fullerton's defense was stifling against San Diego holding the Toreros to only five shots on the night. Of USD's five total shots, only two accounted for shots on goal. 

  • Townsell was tapped in for 84 minutes, placing second on the team behind starting goalkeeper Mia Ranson. Overall, Townsell has tabbed 1,850 career minutes and started 20 contests in a Titan uniform as a member of the backline.

Freshman of the Week 
Nalani Damacion, Hawai'i | Freshman • Midfielder • Rocklin, Calif. 
  • 25388Nalanu Damacion of Hawai'i secures Big West Freshman of the Week accolades after a clutch showing in the Rainbow Wahine's win over Georgia Southern on opening night.    

  • During the freshman midfielder's first career start, Damacion scored the game-winning goal to push UH past the Eagles with less than five minutes remaining in regulation, 3-2.  

  • Damacion becomes the first freshman in UH history to secure a game-winning score and also the first player in to net a game-winner in the final minutes of regulation of overtime since 2019.
