INDIANAPOLIS -- UC Santa Barbara is set to host one of 16 regional sites in the upcoming 2024 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium. The regional hosts were announced Sunday on NCAA.com and its various social media accounts. The rest of the 64-team field will be revealed in a selection show on ESPN2, Monday, May 27 at 9 a.m. PT.
The Gauchos finished the regular season with a 42-12 overall record and won The Big West title with a 26-4 conference mark. UCSB is rated 13th in the most up-to-date Rating Percentage Index (RPI) on NCAA.com. The Gauchos will look to ride their 14-game win streak and undefeated record (25-0) at home into the postseason.
It is UC Santa Barbara’s first time hosting a regional at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium and second overall being NCAA hosts. In 2015, UC Santa Barbara was the chosen as a host of a regional site that was played in Lake Elsinore. The last Big West team to host a regional was Long Beach State in 2017. Cal State Fullerton was a super regional site in 2018.
