The Big West Offers Free Parking for 2024 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships

IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West announced today that parking for all four days of the 2024 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships will be free with a suggested donation to the conference’s Tough Like Tammy fundraising initiative.

Tough Like Tammy is a cooperative venture between the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, The Big West and Big West Women’s Basketball Analyst Tammy Blackburn. The program encouraged all fans to make a one-time donation or pledge for every offensive rebound secured during Big West women’s basketball games between February 1 and March 9, 2024.

Though the initial fundraising goal of $5,000 was exceeded in February, fans are encouraged to continue consider making a one-time donation in lieu of a parking fee through the end of the 2024 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships on Saturday, March 16. All proceeds raised benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and further research on all cancers affecting women.

“Tammy Blackburn has faced her cancer journey with courage and grace, and we hope that our fans will consider supporting her and the many women who are in the fight of their lives with a voluntary donation.” Big West Commissioner Dan Butterly said. “Free parking through the Tough Like Tammy initiative is just one of the ways we’ve made the Big West Basketball Championships more affordable and fan-friendly.”
