Nelly Knezkova Claims Consecutive Weekly Award for Hawai’i

33224• Freshman Nelly Knezkova of Hawai'i has been named The Big West Women's Tennis Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks following another impressive showing with a nationally ranked triumph. This is the second weekly distinction of Knezkova's collegiate career (March 20, 2024).  

• Knezkova collected another nationally ranked win over No. 38 Hannah Viller-Moeller in the Rainbow Wahine's set back versus No. 10 Cal. The Prague, Czech Republic product produced a comeback victory after trailing 2-4 at the second break set, 6-2, 6-4 to clinch the lone point for Hawai'i. Also at singles, Knezkova collected another win at No. 1 with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 triumph versus San Jose State. 

• Against No. 9 Southern California, Knezkova kept pace with 28 overall nationally ranked Emma Charney of the Trojans, but ultimately fell in a tight match, 6-4, 6-2. Currently, Hawai'i leads the league with a perfect 4-0 mark in Big West play and 7-6 overall record.
