Amelia Honer, UC Santa Baraba  Women's Tennis Player of the Week  Junior • Newton, Pa.

• Two of UC Santa Barbara’s Amelia Honer's three singles victories on the week came against ranked opponents to claim The Big West Women’s Tennis Player of the Week award. This is the ninth weekly distinction of Honer’s collegiate career (March 2, April 27, 2022 | Jan. 25, Feb. 1, March 1, 8 and April 5, 19, 2023.)  

• The junior defeated No. 60 ranked Snow Han of No. 8 Southern California, 7-5, 6-2. Honer clinched a thrilling win over No. 59 Claudia De las Hera, 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 10-8 of No. 14 San Diego. Sandwiched between the two ranked triumphs, the Newton, Pa. native also downed Sofiya Chekhlystova of Penn State 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.  

• During doubles play, Honer went 1-0 with two unfinished matches. The Gaucho duo of Honer and Kira Reuter were up, 5-4, before the match was eventually hauled.
