Henno, Nusterer and Rosenthal Take Home Big West Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors

Offensive Player of the Week 
Hilir Henno, UC Irvine | Junior • Outside Hitter • Pornichet, France
  • UC Irvine outside hitter Hilir Henno totaled 89 kills in three matches at the OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational to claim Offensive Player of the Week. The award is a seventh career honor, sixth offensively for Henno who was named Offensive Player of the Week twice this season (Jan. 15, Feb. 19), twice last year (Jan. 9, March 20) and once in 2022 (Jan. 17). 

  • The junior tallied 29 kills for a .406 hitting percentage with eight digs, an ace and a block assist in a 3-2 five-set upset victory over No. 1 Grand Canyon to open the tournament on Thursday. 

  • Henno posted a match-best 24 kills on a .419 hitting percentage plus six digs in Friday's five-set match against No. 14 Lewis. 

  • The outside hitter recorded a career-high and nation’s-best 36 kills, just one shy of the UCI rally-scoring record in five sets verus No. 3 Hawai'i. 

  • Henno is currently pacing The Big West and the NCAA with a 4.75 per set average.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Kurt Nusterer, Hawai'i | Sophomore • Middle Blocker • Indianapolis, Ind.
  • Kurt Nusterer led the Hawai’i defense with 18 combined blocks in a 3-0 week and tournament title at the OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational to earn Big West Defensive Player of the Week. It is Nusterer's first career defensive weekly honor from The Big West. 

  • The sophomore finished with three blocks, a dig and two kills in Thursday’s 3-0 sweep over No. 14 Lewis. 

  • Nusterer had six blocks with three aces and a kill as the Rainbow Warriors swept No. 1 Grand Canyon Friday night. 

  • The Indianapolis, Ind. native compiled nine blocks, two digs, two service aces and six kills in a 3-2 five-set win over No. 5 UC Irvine. 

  • Nusterer is averaging 1.000 blocks per set on the year, tied for second in The Big West.

Freshman of the Week 
Tread Rosenthal, Hawai'i | Freshman • Setter • Manhattan Beach, Calif.
  • Hawai’i first-year player Tread Rosenthal earned a season’s sixth Big West Freshman of the Week award after helping the Rainbow Warriors to a 3-0 week and tournament title in the OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitationalf. 

  • The product of Manhattan Beach, Calif., averaged 9.64 assists and 1.09 blocks per set while also serving up four aces in the tournament. Unter Rosenthal’s direction, the UH offense hit a combined .348 as a team.  

  • Rosenthal finished with 28 assists, three aces, a kill and three digs in Thursday's 3-0 sweep over No. 14 Lewis. 

  • The Rainbow Warrior setter compiled 37 assists, three kills, one ace and two digs in a 3-0 sweep against No. 1 Grand Canyon Friday night. 

  • The freshman finished the weekend with 41 assists, four kills and four digs in a 3-2 five-set victory over No. 5 UC IRvine. 

  • Rosenthal is second The Big West in aces per set (0.536), which stands as seventh in National Collegiate men’s volleyball.
